IELTS for Canada PR: You Need to Know

In this article we will discuss the IELTS for Canada PR. For PR or permanent residency General training version of IELTS is required. The test is designed to gauge your listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills in functional English. To prove that you have enough functional English skills you need to do the following:

1. Register for a IELTS test authorized by the IRCC.
2. Enter the valid score to the application profile.
3. If you get an invitation to apply, attach your results with the application.

Do not send results directly to immigration authority like you do to your educational institution. 

Tests of English for PR

To prove you have good enough English skills you need to take either of the following tests.

1. CELPIP: Canadian English Language proficiency Index program.
   1. CELPIP General test is accepted. 
   2. General LS test is not allowed for express entry programs

2. IELTS: International English Language Testing System.
   1. You have to take the general training exam.
   2. Academic version of the test is not applicable.

Make sure while you submit your result from the IELTS test, your result is valid on the day of the submission.
