If you wish to apply for Canada Express Entry, you will have to show that you have good enough English skills in all four departments – listening, reading, writing, and speaking. You will have to attach your result to your application. To prove this you need to do the following:

1. Register for a test authorized by the IRCC.
2. Enter the valid score to the application profile.
3. If you get an invitation to apply, attach your results with the application.

Accepted Language Tests

Canada has two official languages – English and French. 

• For English you need follow one of the followings:
  • CELPIP: Canadian English Language proficiency Index program.
    • CELPIP General test is accepted.
    • General LS test is not allowed for express entry programs

• IELTS: International English Language Testing System.
  • You have to take the general training exam.
  • Academic version of the test is not applicable.

Your IELTS score will be proof of your language ability. On the day of your application lodgement, you will have to submit your results with your express entry application. 

The scores must be valid on the day of the lodgement. It is better to start the application process and prepare for the IELTS exam at the same time. After you have made sure that everything is in order except for the IELTS test, take the test. 

This way you will have a full 2-year validity on your IELTS scores. Usually, after you create your express entry profile it will be valid for 12 months. You have to ensure to get your results by then and submit.

Averaging your language score: for people with a physical or mental disability

You cannot foretell what will happen on a test day. You can suddenly have physical disabilities due to health problems. If so happens, and you cannot complete any section of your IELTS test, you have to:
